I grew in CO, but my Dad (Jerel Nielsen) grew up in Cedar Falls and he and his siblings attended PLS as well as four of my cousins. When I was a kid, we would take tours of the school because my two uncles were faculty at the time. It was always special for me to see the school, to see a piece of my Dad's past. When they had the last open house before the building was to be demolished, I got the walk through the school one last time and hear my dad tell stories of different teachers and events that happened while he was growing up. It was very special for my Dad as well as me.
